Calfornia's Free Ride on the Highways Might Come to the End ?

Photo of high toll feeCalifornia, the King of automobiles where it roams everywhere it needed to go on the well-planned mazes of freeways that was started in 1950s slowly developed into extremely congested freeway networks especially the San Diego Freeway (I-405) which holds the award of US Most Busiest Freeway. The CalTrans have been looking for methods to give the congested traffic some relief so they have begun constructing some toll roads which it enangers many of the motorists because of the skyhigh tolls at the peak rush hour which it can run up as high as $10 per use where you can not pay with cash and it has to be used with the toll road transponder that it will charge to your toll road account that you registered with them and charges to your credit card. We Californians probably pays the most in DMV fees since we pay the annual automobile registerations can easily run up as high as $500 a year depending on the value and type of the car including the drivers license fees. Where did all those DMV fees go ?

So the State of California thinks it will be a win-win situtation if they build the toll roads which it will help to reduce the traffic as they earn the tolls. Well let's look at the state of Illnois and state of New York, they are still crying poor as the motorists have been paying the tolls as they have no choice so how can that work here in California if it does not work in other states when we built more toll roads and California struggles to avoid the bankruptcy so they will try to charge motorists at $20 during busiest time ? In other hand, let's take a look in Orange County, California, they have been doing extremely well in moving the traffic because they have taken a serious measures in expanding their traffic capacity early in time that was passed by the voters in early 90s and they went right to work and started expanding all of the freeways in the county which is now pretty much a sunday drive unlike Los Angeles County. So if Orange County can do that, why can't other counties do same thing with what Orange County have done ? No excuses! If the toll is ever being proposed, I am going to vote against it because of the bad planning and money use by the politicans!

It is the politicans that needs to clean up their act and stop spending the money like 10 years old!

The Illegal Immigrants Are Out Of Control ? Maybe.

This post have been inspired by Steve’s Midlife Crisis that I also oppose legalizing the illegal immigrants which will signal the easy way to gain the citizenship. I am very surprised that many of them are working for the licensed companies illegaly that they would grind most major cities to halt because they are going to stage a walk out on May 1st which is unfair to the legal americans who works hard and paid their (and my tax) taxes while they probably don’t pay a cent to the taxes because they don’t have the social security number in the record!

As we are aware of the increasing crisis in the gang-related crime in the urban cities and the Los Angeles Police Department have the statistics that shows:

  • In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.
  • A confidential California Department of Justice study reported in 1995 that 60 percent of the 20,000-strong 18th Street Gang in southern California is illegal; police officers say the proportion is actually much greater. The bloody gang collaborates with the Mexican Mafia, the dominant force in California prisons, on complex drug-distribution schemes, extortion, and drive-by assassinations, and commits an assault or robbery every day in L.A. County. The gang has grown dramatically over the last two decades by recruiting recently arrived youngsters, most of them illegal, from Central America and Mexico.

So can we trust the illegal aliens as they continue to contribute the problem and entering and living in the country without any valid passport or ID constitutes as felony offense since they are on our land and they are expected to follow all of our laws which I don’t think they do like I mentioned earlier that they probably don’t pay their taxes to Uncle Sam also illegal immigrantion is a crime just like speeding.

Also they have produced large financial burden for some states especially for California since we are spending over $10.5 Billion dollars just in education, medical care and incarceration which is little steep for the population of 36 million residents and is expected to grow up to about 45 million residents by year 2030 while we are letting the illegal immigrants get away without paying the tax ? I DON’T THINK SO!

In conclusion, if they want to stay in this country, then start learning to speak English since it is the country’s offical language and we are not going to sing our national anthem in Spanish as the primary language in the English-speaking events and get the social security number and start contributing to Uncle Sam then you are the American!

Some of Major Airliners are Considering to Reconfigure Their Seats

I was watching Fox News on TV and this particular topic have immediately caught my attention that some of the airliners are considering to reconfigure their standard seats to the stand-up seats so they can pack in more passengers to make more revenues! I strongly oppose it if it is configured for long haul flights (1 or more hours flight) because I don’t think it would be comfortable standing up for the long haul flight unless it is the shuttle flight which is fine with me like for example from Los Angeles to San Diego so it can reduce the flight route load while increasing more passengers per mile. Would you like to stand on those „seats“ if you are flying out from Los Angeles International to Kennedy International:

For me, NO FREAKIN WAY IN THE HELL I AM GOING TO STAND IN THAT FOR THE 8 HOUR FLIGHT! Therefore the airliners are going to lose more revenues if they actually executed this plan because almost all of us who flew before 9/11 remembers that it used to be more luxury than what it is today that we used to be able to all you can eat peanuts but now its only 2.7 peanuts per flight! So I want my 3 extra inches of legroom and all of my peanuts back!!!

A Child Got Killed When Exiting From The School Bus

What is wrong with the motorists ? I don’t have time to wait for the bus to unload the students so I have to hurry because I am late for work! or is that you are just distracted by too focused on the cellphone while driving where it should not be ?

Stopped school buses and children crossing the street. Some school buses flash yellow lights when preparing to stop and let children off the bus. The yellow flashing lights warn you to slow down and prepare to stop. When the bus flashes red lights (located at the top front and back of the bus), you must stop from either direction until the children are safely across the street and the lights stop flashing. The law requires you to remain stopped as long as the red lights are flashing (VC §22454). If you fail to stop, you may be fined up to $1000 and your driving privilege could be suspended for one year. If the school bus is on the other side of a divided or multilane (two or more lanes in each direction) highway, you do not need to stop.

Taken from California’s Drivers Handbook 2006

Now I have noticed the school bus is becomre less safe because of the increased traffic, increased road hazards, and most importantly that is the main reason of the cause is the reckless driving by the reckless drivers or distracted drivers, I say this because, I have been riding on the school bus for most of my school years from kindergarden to 9th grade, so yes it was the safest mode of transportion for going to school and coming home from school. Unfortunately I have been hearing alot more of news that the school buses that have been involved in the accidents or the pupil that got struck when the driver did not want to stop when the bus red lights were flashing which is kinda similar to the sitution I had few weeks ago when I was driving back home from my mother’s house, there are two dedicated right turn lanes on the main road, I went on the first lane (left lane) to turn right while the green right arrow is lit so the traffic that was on the right turn lanes are flowing as I turn the right aiming for the center, but I had swerve to far left lane because the car that was on the right lane was going for the center lane too! I honked my horn and held it for 5 to 10 seconds as she swerved back to the right lane so I got became pissed then pulled over to make an eye contact which she refused because she was talking on the damn cell phone! But it is NO ABSOLUTELY EXCUSE because she could have noticed me pulling up on the left right turn lane but she didn’t just because she was too focused on her cellphone! So I can relate to that can happen to the accident to the school buses loading/unloading.

STOP TALKING ON THE CELLPHONES IF YOU ARE DRIVING! Yes, it is bolded because from the article I was reading…

In one day, we saw the officer write tickets citing three people who failed to stop for the school bus when the stop arm was out and the lights were flashing. Two of the motorists said they did not see the stopped school bus when they drove by.

Taken from http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/04/12/hunter.schoolbus/index.html

School bus is not hard to notice since its (coughs) YELLOW! and the flashing lights is not too small to notice ? So you cellphone loving drivers do not have any excuses!
