Calfornia's Free Ride on the Highways Might Come to the End ?
California, the King of automobiles where it roams everywhere it needed to go on the well-planned mazes of freeways that was started in 1950s slowly developed into extremely congested freeway networks especially the San Diego Freeway (I-405) which holds the award of US Most Busiest Freeway. The CalTrans have been looking for methods to give the congested traffic some relief so they have begun constructing some toll roads which it enangers many of the motorists because of the skyhigh tolls at the peak rush hour which it can run up as high as $10 per use where you can not pay with cash and it has to be used with the toll road transponder that it will charge to your toll road account that you registered with them and charges to your credit card. We Californians probably pays the most in DMV fees since we pay the annual automobile registerations can easily run up as high as $500 a year depending on the value and type of the car including the drivers license fees. Where did all those DMV fees go ?
So the State of California thinks it will be a win-win situtation if they build the toll roads which it will help to reduce the traffic as they earn the tolls. Well let's look at the state of Illnois and state of New York, they are still crying poor as the motorists have been paying the tolls as they have no choice so how can that work here in California if it does not work in other states when we built more toll roads and California struggles to avoid the bankruptcy so they will try to charge motorists at $20 during busiest time ? In other hand, let's take a look in Orange County, California, they have been doing extremely well in moving the traffic because they have taken a serious measures in expanding their traffic capacity early in time that was passed by the voters in early 90s and they went right to work and started expanding all of the freeways in the county which is now pretty much a sunday drive unlike Los Angeles County. So if Orange County can do that, why can't other counties do same thing with what Orange County have done ? No excuses! If the toll is ever being proposed, I am going to vote against it because of the bad planning and money use by the politicans!
It is the politicans that needs to clean up their act and stop spending the money like 10 years old!
